Farm Tour

Meadows Community Farm & Garden

This Farm Tour is a pre-gathering offering to visit Meadows Community Farm and Garden from 10 am - 12 pm EST on Friday, August 7th, 2026! During this tour, farm and community members will share their land acquisition process, discuss their sustainable community farm operating model, and speak to the experience of the refugee and immigrant farming communities in the Greater Springfield area.

We will be led on the tour by Mumat Aweys, Co-Director of All Farmers. Mumat became involved through his parents, who are farmers within the All Farmers & Grow Food Northampton network. Through supporting their farm operations, he became involved in community-based food systems work in Western Massachusetts. Mumat initially joined All Farmers as a volunteer and later transitioned to a staff role. In 2023, All Farmers purchased 60 acres of prime farmland, home of Meadows Community Farm and Garden, a five-minute drive from downtown Springfield, . He also serves as a Board Member for Grow Food Northampton. He is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to strengthening community-based food systems through his work with both organizations.
