HealRise Sanctuary
In collaboration with the Yaad Wellness collective x Herban Cura, we invite you to explore and take part in the HealRise Sanctuary, a space for our We the Land! community to access, and enjoy a variety of free healing modalities throughout the duration of the gathering. As a collective, we believe that nurturing our communities' minds, bodies, and spirits through the integration of holistic care and culturally relevant healing practices is an essential tool for our health and body sovereignty. Our hope is that each session supports participants' personalized healing needs while attending We the Land.

Tagan draws on a number of disciplines during an Eastern Medicine session. He first utilizes pulse and tongue diagnosis and then supports healing and rebalancing in the body through bodywork, including tui na massage, craniosacral therapy. Tagan will also incorporate zero balancing, counterstrain and other touch modalities into this portion of the session. Thereafter, clients may receive acupuncture, moxibustion, gua sha, and/or cupping depending on a client’s needs, preferences, and comfort level. Fitting all of these offerings into a session is all dependent upon how much time he has with you.
Shakai will be offering Acupuncture Cupping and Gua-Sha sessions focused on nervous system regulation, pain conditions, stress relief, Woman’s Health and whole-body recalibration. Her treatments integrate gentle needling with a deeply attuned, somatic approach—supporting the body in releasing tension, restoring balance, and reconnecting to its natural state of coherence. Sessions may also incorporate elements of breath awareness and subconscious support, creating space for both physical and emotional reset. -
This space will be available to chat about how to integrate herbs into your life, any questions you may have around how herbs can support your health, and talk about any health issues you are experiencing. We will have herbal teas, tinctures, and herbal remedies to use in the space.

Shakai She
Shakai is a licensed acupuncturist in New York and a practitioner of East Asian Medicine devoted to integrative, whole-person care. She holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science and previously studied at Columbia University, where she graduated with departmental honors in Archaeological Anthropology while also exploring Social Psychology.
Before her formal training in Eastern Medicine, Shakai studied ancient cultures and early healing traditions, an experience that continues to shape her work today. While East Asian Medicine is the umbrella she practices within, using Acupuncture and its modalities like Gua-Sha and Cupping as tools, her approach weaves together ancestral knowledge and cross-cultural healing traditions from Africa, Asia, and the Indigenous peoples of North and South America, alongside Western philosophy and psychology. In addition to acupuncture, Shakai is trained in hypnotherapy through Rapid Transformational Therapy, working with the subconscious and emotional body to gently shift the patterns and beliefs that live beneath conscious awareness.
Woven into the fabric of her work is the understanding that deep healing has always lived in relationship with Nature, with the Land, with the Elements, and with one another. Her practice honors the ways the body holds memory, adapts for protection, and carries both personal and ancestral experience. In a time where many systems may at times pull us away from our innate brilliance, inner guidance, and connection, her work is an invitation to return to the body, to the heart, to relationship, and to the deeper wisdom that has always been present. Shakai is committed to making this medicine more accessible and to supporting both individual and collective healing through presence, attunement, and deep listening.
